Dear Proshop Proshop, Welcome to the August 21' edition of Mollymook Golf Club e-News as we welcome all the Beachside Golf Members to Hilltop from today! The renovations at the Beachside Course have officially commenced and we hope all the Beachside members enjoy playing at Hilltop over the next four months. I hope everyone is staying safe and well during this difficult time. Once again, the current ever changing Covid restrictions are playing havoc with our "open" events and we have had to make some difficult decisions on the following events... - Titleist Fitting Day - 6th August - CANCELLED again and a new date is "to be advised".
- Mollymook Open - 13th to 15th August - the 2021 event is CANCELLED. Next event will be in August 2022.
- Cancer Outpatients Appeal Golf Day (COA Day) - 3rd September - the 2021 event is CANCELLED. Next event will be on Friday 11th February 2022.
Next month, we will provide updates on open events scheduled in October including our showcase event, the NSW Senior PGA Masters Championship Pro-Am but at this stage, the majority of NSW Pro-Am events have been cancelled so it is doubtful this event will go ahead.
It is disappointing for the club to cancel major events such as the Mollymook Open for two years in a row but unfortunately it is a sign of the times and our main priority is to keep our members and local community as safe as possible. At this stage, our club competition schedule will continue as normal. The annual Marine Rescue Day that was postponed in May and rescheduled for the 16th of July, and unfortunately cancelled again, will not be rescheduled again this year and the 2021 event has been cancelled. The 2022 event is booked in for Friday 6th May 2022. We will continue to keep our members updated on any major changes that will affect our club operations. We have recently reintroduced some "Covid Local Rules" on course including... - Flagsticks - Please do not touch the flagsticks and leave them in at all times.
- Bunkers - The bunker rakes have been removed, please take a "one card length" preferred lie in the bunkers and use your feet (and/or club) to smooth over your divot and foot prints when leaving the bunker.
- Scorecards - You can mark your own scorecard again in competitions, please keep a record of your playing partner's score on your card so you can confirm both scores at the end of your round.
Once again, a reminder the maximum seating limit inside Hilltop is 64 and you cannot drink standing up. Please keep in mind that our staff do not make these rules however they do have to enforce them as part of their job. |
