CLUB NEWS

Friday 26 February 2021

Dear Proshop Proshop,

Welcome to the March 21' edition of Mollymook Golf Club e-News.

Please tell us about your golfing experience...

As part of the review of the impact of competition and timesheet management changes introduced last year, GBAS (Golf Business Advisory Services) have been engaged to undertake a comprehensive analysis of the ideal member golfing experience. The analysis will research the needs of long-standing members, new participants, and emerging markets.

GBAS has worked closely with Golf Australia and Golf NSW on several projects and understands the opportunities and challenges facing the industry. You can view their profile at www.golfbas.com

GBAS will primarily conduct the research in two ways:

  • Direct communication with members in the form of the survey
  • Direct communication in the form of focus groups
  • Analysis of statistical data since changes were implemented

The review will conclude with a full spectrum report providing a professional and independent evaluation ensuring the right decisions are made to best serve all golfing members.

To ensure relevant issues are identified and appropriately explored, pre-survey member focus groups will be held on Thursday 18th March. Members are invited to express their interest in attending one of the groups which will be limited to a maximum of 8 participants and will be chosen to ensure a balance of diversity in gender, age, and membership profile.

Please email management@mollymookgolf.com.au before Friday 12th March to express your interest in attending a member focus group.

The report will be available to the membership at the completion of the project.

February Golf Update...

February has been another busy month for golf with more great scoring with 40 points or better scored 31 times this month and congratulations to Noeleen McAlister who "top scored" for the month with an impressive 48 points last Monday in an open single stableford event.  Noeleen had 6 straight 3 pointers to finish the round.

The best of the men was Tony Whittle who shot 45 points off a 10 handicap on Thursday 18th.  Tony's round included 17 pars and one lone bogey on the 16th hole.  15 straight pars off 10 is probably some sort of record for that handicap.

David Banks actually won something again after taking out the PP's championships with daylight coming second.  Banksy was the 1st round leader and then shot an easy 41 points including an eagle on the 16th in the final round.  Most improved award goes to Bernard Jones who bounced back with 43 points after 27 in the 1st round.

A couple of good gross scores include Nick Heath with +4 in a Par event of scratch and Kelsey Bennett with 39 points off +1 handicap.

2021 Men's Pennant Season

The men's pennant season is well under way and congratulations to Wayne Finlayson from Division 1 and Ray Sanders and Victor Nash from the Seniors team who have all won 2 from 2 matches.
