Dear Proshop Proshop, Welcome to the August 22' edition of Mollymook Golf Club e-News. August has to be better than July for golf, it couldn't get much worse! It started raining at the start of July and very rarely stopped with the course closed for 7 days and carts were allowed "on-course" for just 4 days only. We ended up with over 400mm of rain in July when the monthly average is 126mm. Just a reminder to take extra care in the wet and muddy conditions as a couple of members have recently had to be taken to hospital after slipping over on the steep slopes. Golf shoes with "soft spikes" also help during the wet conditions instead of rubber sole shoes. It has been very disappointing to hear a few members complaining to golf staff because they cannot use a golf cart. If you have been playing in the wet conditions, you will have seen all the damage from pull buggies and electric trolleys in the last couple of weeks so there has been no chance of getting carts on. The club would much rather have the carts on the course instead of sitting in the shed as it has a huge impact on revenue but common sense must prevail in these difficult times. We are hoping for another dry, windy day tomorrow and the carts will be back on course this Wednesday (3rd August). |
