Dear Proshop Proshop,

Welcome to the May 23' edition of Mollymook Golf Club e-News.

We just hosted the Mollymook Women's Open and it was great to have such a large field with 142 players from all over NSW and the ACT playing at Hilltop over the last 3 days. Thank goodness the weather forecast wasn't quite accurate as they were forecasting over 100mm of rain on Sunday which would of made it very difficult to get the event started on Monday. We ended up with just 16mm on Sunday and the course maintenance team did a great job preparing the course for the tournament.

We've recently had a few technical issues with the MiClub system so another upgrade was carried out last night and it seems to be running much smoother today. One of the recent updates to the MiScore Scoring App was essential to keep "up to date" with the latest operating systems from Apple and Google. April Golf Summary...

We had 7,888 rounds of golf played in April which was 1,467 rounds (23%) up on April 2022.

There were 4,657 rounds played at Hilltop and 3,231 rounds played at Beachside. At Hilltop, 75% of the rounds were from members with 25% from visitors. At Beachside, 49% of rounds were from members with 51% from visitors.

There were 2,436 competition rounds played at Hilltop with just 18 players scoring 40 points (68 nett) or better last month which is only 0.7% of the total comp rounds.

Some outstanding scores last month include... A visitor from The Lakes GC with 51 points, yes in a single stableford. Brett Hayson would receive the "purple patch" award with rounds of 43, 42 and 41 points last month. Matthew Shrubb shot a nett 67 in the Monthly Medal to blitz the rest of the field. Congratulations to Jason Harvey who had an eagle on the 18th Hole.

Sienna wins the Mollymook Women's Open (by 20 shots)

17 year old Sienna Clarke won her first Mollymook Open on Tuesday with great rounds of 76, 69 for a 1 under total of 145. Sienna just snuck home by 20 shots from Cathryn Husdell from Queanbeyan GC. Sienna's second round of 69 included 4 birdies and an eagle which was great golf in tough conditions.

Sienna is a member of both Mollymook GC and St.Michael's GC in Sydney.

The locals did very well this year with Debbie Lees winning the 36 Hole Nett in Division 1 and Heather Stewart winning the Division 3, 36 Hole Stableford event.

Kim Johnson also combined with Fiona Doyle from Queanbeyan to win the Foursomes event yesterday. Please click on the link below to view the full list of winners from the event...

If you would like something on the way round, please call the Golf Shop on 44552055 after teeing off the 8th Tee and it will be ready for you at the Bar at the 9th green!

MiScore Important Notice

As part of MiClub's ongoing improvement process from time to time they need to make essential updates to the MiScore App and our systems. These enhancements include important updates to add additional functionality, improved performance and essential security and privacy enhancements.

Over time older mobile phones typically 7+ years of age become obsolete and are no longer capable of receiving operating system updates hence restricting or blocking the access to the MiScore App (and other apps). A proposal at Hilltop

It's nice to share a "good news story"...

On Easter Sunday, a couple of our golf members, Erik and Niree, were playing 9 holes at Hilltop with Zac and Carla (pictured) who were visiting from Bermagui.

On the 18th green, Zac had a nervous 3 putt and then pulled out a diamond ring, got down on one knee and proposed to his long time partner, Carla who said "YES".

At least he had an excuse for 3 putting!

We hope everyone enjoys the Marine Rescue Day tomorrow at Hilltop. This event had a wet weather curse last year but we are all "good to go" for tomorrow".

A couple of big events coming up soon with the Men's 4BBB Vs PAR Championship (13th & 20th) and the Women's Foursomes Championships (16th & 23rd).

We are also hosting our first WILSON Fitting Day on Wednesday 31st May, please see Mario if you would like to book in a private fitting.
